[The regular February meeting was held at 8:30 am on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Loflin's Restaurant, 108 Randolph St., Thomasville, NC, with N4AGL presiding.  The following minutes were circulated via e-mail by NC4WD.]

In attendance: N4AGL, NC4WD, KK4RR, KW4SM, W4DAE, K4TNC, Donald Qualls, KG4TAH, Preston Lewis, K4KKT, KF4NEF, KJ4UYR, W8LWX, KW4IL, K4EBF, KX4LG, Wes Hughes, Susan H. Marsh, and KD4LHP.

KK4RR made a motion to approve the January minutes as delivered via e-mail. It was seconded and passed a voice vote.

K4EBF made the treasurer's report.

Winter field day was at the caboose in Thomasville. In attendance were: N4AGL, KN4KRL, K4EBF, K4KKT, K4JO, KK4RR, KD4LHP, KG4TAH, KK4ZIU, KF4QDS, KK4ZIV, and NC4WD. Six visitors stopped by, one being a licensed amateur, KE8CJA. Nearly 80 contacts were made on 40 and 80 meters SSB.

NC QSO Party is just days away! One cabin has been reserved at Hanging Rock State Park for February 23-24. Check in time is 4:00 PM on Saturday. Check out time is 10:00 AM on Monday. They are rustic cabins. bring your own linens/sleeping bag. 3 cabins were rented last year in hopes of a large crowd, but it did not materialize. For those unable to make the trip, W4DAE will open up his shed for another operation. It will not be operating under the club call, but a special event call or W4DAE.

Discussion has been made about repeating the Doak Park May meeting we enjoyed last year. W8LWX made the motion to approve such a meeting at Doak Park at 10:30 AM. It was seconded and passed a voice vote. Last year it was a breakfast meeting. This year it will be a lunch meeting. Look for future announcements as info becomes available.

Richard, KK4RR, had an announcement to make. He has recently moved into a new, old house in High Point near the Krispy Kreme. The house has a detached garage/apartment that will become a personal/club ham shack. He is seeking sweat equity from club members to ease its transition into a well usable space. Tentative painting dates of March 2 and 9 have been announced. Paint, supplies, pizza, soda, beer, etc will be provided to those who wish to assist. If anyone has access to a legally obtained, decommissioned "RadioShack" electronics store sign, he would be interested.

Member surveys were handed out at the January meeting and mailed out recently. Some of them have been returned. Only one has been returned as undeliverable by USPS. Popular topics seem to be portable power, logging, and meeting presentations. A presentation will be made on various logging options in the near future by KG4TAH.

Anthony, N4AGL, has proposed a sort of in-club competition to decide which equipment will be utilized at ARRL Field Day this summer. The idea is that teams of 3-4 members will pool their resources and equipment they already own to design a portable station. The club will provide a generator and each team would be responsible from the extension cord to the antenna. Stations will be judged at the May meeting.

W8LWX made a motion to adjourn. It was seconded and passed a voice vote.
